My next photography class here at Brooks is…. Nature Photography! So, prepare yourself for pictures of… well… nature and animals.
Before every session, we have an assignment called “prep week”, or preparation week, preparing yourself for the next class. Usually it involves research of some sort, but this time it consists of going around to 4 predetermined locations and shooting a “wide” shot (showing the location) and a “detail” shot (any sort of, well, detail). I decided to knock one out today, so I headed over to Andree Clark Bird Refuge.
Here are my two shots. I know, I know, my wide shot isn’t exactly spectacular but you’ll love my detail one!
Adorable ducklings! Ah, my heart melted. Of course, momma duck was sitting very close by, eyeing me as I attempted to sneak in closer and closer… until a chihuahua walked on past and they disappeared into the bushes and water.
Canon 100mm 2.8
Canon 17-40mm 4.0 (perpetually stuck at, I believe, 17mm — yes, it needs to be repaired).
Photos taken at around 4:30PM.
